I have 2 sweet female guinea pigs that are about 5 months old. We got them from Pet Smart in late August and they were just babies about half the size of the adults that were in the store and I still think they might be smaller than those. Anyway here's our dilema at least 3 of the 4 people in our house have been having breathing issues since we closed the windows up for the cold weather. We've moved the cage to different rooms, changed types of bedding and have gone to a wire cage with no bedding just a pull out pan with newspapers and still we are having problems. My children really don't want to give their pigs up but I have to think of all our health above all and would like to see these animals go to a loving forever home. I also would like to try to recoup some of the expense of the cage, pigs and other supplies, so I am asking for a small rehoming fee that would be fair as I'm more interested in finding them a good home and the fee would include the 2 young pigs (we paid $35 each), 2' x 2' wire cage (we paid $60) with pull out pan (I fabricated a plexiglass interior to keep the mess inside the cage pan for a cost of $22), water bottle (paid $8 for better bottle), food bowl, food and what is left of their chewed up natural hide away log (paid $10). The pigs are both short haired - Sunshine is white with black and brown markings and Shadow is almost all black except for a thin strip of brown on her butt and what looks like a brown eyebrow above her one eye. Please if you tell me you will take them keep your word and come as this will be difficult enough on my children, I don't need them to go through this more than once. Thank you.
