Take a look at this vintage Manco 3-wheeler. I hadn't seen one of these for probably 20 years until I came across this one a few months ago, and bought it for my wife. The Manco 308 Rustler is a medium sized 3-wheeler, similar in wheelbase to my Honda Big Red 200s, and a couple inches shorter seat height. What makes this trike particularly unusual for its 1980's era is it's power source. It's powered by a Briggs & Stratton 8 HP motor, as a go-kart would be, with the Comet heavy duty torque converter putting torque to the rear live axle. She's got some power for both hills and flats. After purchasing it a few months ago for my wife, I had it tuned up at the local small engine repair shop. He rebuilt the carb, installed a new recoil assembly, ignition coil, air cleaner, points, kill switch, spark plug, and fuel line/valve to get the trike up and running as it should. Unfortunately, my wife prefers 4 wheelers over 3. It has balloon knobby tires for great traction and some flotation over bumps and rough terrain. It has great tread on the tires, a storage well/compartment behind the seat, and a full rear rack for your deer, cargo, whatever you can strap to it. It also has a trailer hitch mounted to the frame, for pulling a small yard cart, deer cart, etc. This could be a neat deer drag for hunting season, especially for the guy who likes to do his own motor and maintenance work. What's simpler than a Briggs 4 stroke engine? The 3-wheeler is stopped by dual band brakes on the rear axle (one by hand, the other by foot). Could use a set of brake bands by the new owner (available at NorthernTool.com or Tractor Supply). But I'm not putting more into it at this point, since my wife doesn't want to ride it (she doesn't like my Honda either, being a 3-wheeler). So I'm looking to recover my purchase price and the tune-up/repair work that was done a few weeks back. If you're seeking a restoration job, this could be a fun project. The paint on the frame is rough, but easily enough repainted. The red plastics are great for their age, including the mudflaps on the fenders. Motor is a strong runner, but not new by any means. I am selling this 3-wheeler as is, although it starts and runs well at the time I am listing it. Local pickup only in Buffalo, NY. Will not be shipped or crated. You are welcome to come take a look at it. Just email or call me if you're interested. Thanks for looking! I'm looking for $450 or B/O, but please don't insult me with a lowball offer on a vintage collectors trike with new parts. Call 716-435-1354 for info or to see it. Thanks.
